A visitor from outer space comes to earth as part of the process whereby humans will be killed so that the earth might survive. When the U.S. Government fears an invasion, the visitor is aided in escape by a young female scientist. Despite the antagonism he faces, the visitor ultimately finds worth in humanity and seemingly sacrifices himself to stop the destruction of humans... (A remake of the 1951 classic.)
